On initiative of the Deputy Prime Minister Alexander De Croo and Minister of Finance and International Development, 115 people from 40 countries came to Brussels to create technology-driven solutions for the most pressing humanitarian challenges.

Leverage cutting-edge technologies and solutions in the humanitarian context to help create a world without hunger by 2030.

WHAT WE DID

2-day hackathon that started a close collaboration between humanitarian organizations, research institutes, civil society and the private sector. Recruiting a carefully curated group of participants with the support of WFP’s global media outreach  was a critical part of the success of the event.

RESULTS

Several projects created at Humanitarian Hackathon are currently under development in Nairobi with support of WFP’s  Digital Transformation Services.
