CardioXplore is a two-day pan-European Patient Hackathon organised and funded by Daiichi Sankyo in Europe. Dedicated to imagining and creating patient-centric solutions to help improve cardiovascular health across Europe and Turkey, 126 talented and driven individuals worked on heart health challenges across five countries – Belgium, Germany, Portugal, Spain and Turkey.

WHY

CardioXplore was designed to generate new ideas which help prevent as many people as possible from experiencing the negative impacts of cardiovascular disease, and to help protect those who are affected so that they can enjoy every precious moment that life has to offer. The goal of CardioXplore has been to create fast solutions which respond to the needs that individuals have today, while also exploring entirely new approaches to cardiovascular care for tomorrow and beyond.

WHAT WE DID

126 participants across the five locations came together from different healthcare sectors, from technology companies, patients and their representatives, entrepreneurs, and other professionals, and worked together on improving cardiovascular healthcare for two intense days.

CardioXplore was centered around 3 broad areas of opportunities

INCREASING HEALTH LITERACY

EMPOWERING HEALTHY LIFESTYLE CHANGES

ENHANCING MOTIVATION

In order to have concrete results, we constructed smaller, more specific challenges that can be meaningfully addressed in just two days.

RESULTS

23 teams were formed across the five locations. All ideas were evaluated by a jury of experts and Daiichi Sankyo senior representatives. The two most promising ideas have been selected for further development from Daiichi Sankyo, while several others were selected to receive mentoring support from Daiichi Sankyo and/or its partners.
