Did you hear about the healthcare hackathon happening in person this June in Brussels?
Missing meeting people in person? Tired of endless online meetings? Here’s your chance to change the world for better AND work with other humans mask-wearing-face-to-face.
The whole Hack Belgium Labs team is working hard to give you the opportunity to have an awesome hybrid interactive opportunity to meet with other humans and improve the healthcare ecosystem in Belgium. The final weeks of preparation for #hackhealthcare are coming up and we are ramping up our work to go fully physical with all the safety precautions in place. COVID is retreating in Belgium, the numbers are looking good, and the government has opened the door to indoor events in June, right when our healthcare hackathon is happening 🙂
We are getting everything ready to go in person for the event (yes!), adapting the work to the current situation with all the good stuff we have learned from the lockdowns and a fully online hackathon we organised for the European Commission.
The digital additions we have developed will improve the in-person experience, the massive interaction with other human beings in real time that simply cannot happen online. There’s a lot of non-verbal communication missing online and we want to take full advantage of the whole human expression through in-person interactions.
Two of the things we have added to our new hybrid event are:
- We have set up a Yambla community for participants to share stories around the challenges and the ideas to overcome them, so that participants can better prepare for the event by diving deeper, improve their understanding of the challenges, and meeting fellow participants even before the event
- We’ll use Miro boards to replace our traditional paper canvasses and sticky notes. Large screen TVs at each table connected to each team’s individual board will make sure participants talk to one another instead of staring into their laptops
With the addition of digital tools to use before, during, and after Hack Healthcare, we will have a better record of what happens at the event. And, we’ll help participants improve their skills with these tools through practice.
So, don’t worry about having limited experience of using Miro, we are there for you too: we will offer you a crash course on the use of these tools and have coaches available to help you and your future teams make the most of them. You’ll come out of #hackhealthcare with more tools in your toolbox to use professionally, all included in the ticket.
The location is confirmed! We will be working together at favorite venue in Brussels, Area 42: spacious and with plenty of windows 😀
And as a last resource, we are ready to go fully digital if the Coronavirus goes awry. Come rain or sunshine there’ll be a Hack Healthcare event in June 16-17. We know that the digital experience is not as good as the in-person one, but it can be done and it can be productive and useful.
Are you going to miss the first chance after lockdowns to meet with a bunch of interesting people to work on improving our healthcare?
Get your ticket now (only a few left, hurry up).
